Spring is Here
After a cold, wet, and overall dreary weekend, complete with a sick Mommy and Baby, we decided we should remember better days. Last weekend it actually seemed like spring here in the Mid-Atlantic, and we decided to take advantage of the weather. So, we headed down to the mighty Delaware River for a stroll. Asher tried out his shades for the very first time. Though they were still pretty big on him, he still wore them like a rock star. Now, if we can just string a few more of these nice days together!

Update on the Latest Peas Talks
While Vice President Joe Biden is the latest US diplomat to try his hand at peace negotiations, Asher has decided to follow in the UD grad's footsteps and give peas a chance. Ok, bad pun. But he has tried peas and sweet potatoes in addition to rice and oatmeal cereal. He seems to like sweet potatoes, but peas...well...not so much. He seems to be like his dad--he'll eat whatever's in front of him, but peas don't rank above the 25th percentile.
Asher and his first experience with peas
Some really did make it IN his mouth
On another note, Asher was excited he arrived in time to watch the Fightin' Phils in the World Series, but recently told us that he's been waiting his whole life for the Fightin's to actually WIN one. So, to prepare for Spring Training and to celebrate the arrival of Doc Halladay, Asher and Mommy tried on their Phils hats.

Picking Colleges
Asher has recently started rolling over, eating solids, and can now sit unsupported for a short period of time. For us, the obvious next step is to start pushing him to begin thinking about college and a urge him to make career-minded decisions from an early age. God forbid we fall behind the competition, right? Our parenting style is to give Asher limited choices to ensure he makes the one that makes us look the best. We understand that he is a reflection of us and we wouldn't want anyone thinking that we promote any sort of fun in the Woytek household. Thus we gave Asher three choices for college.
First, we told him he could go to an engineering school like the Colorado School of Mines and follow in his Uncle Jeff's and Uncle Justin's footsteps. He pointed out that, while engineers enjoy a certain amount of social prestige that reflects well on their parents, they are often the butt of countless jokes.
